The Christian community is mourning the sad demise of Kay Lee Arthur, who sadly passed away on May 20, 2025, according to a post on her official Facebook and Instagram page.

Her cause of death was not disclosed to the public at the time of making this post.

The post reads;

Our beloved cofounder, Kay Arthur, went to be with the Lord this morning, May 20, 2025. In the late 1960s, Kay and her husband, Jack, started leading Bible studies from their living room. Over the past 55 years, that small outreach has grown into an international ministry discipling millions through Scripture.
Through television, radio, writing, and speaking, God has used Kay to transform millions of lives across the world. Including ours.
We are so grateful for Kay’s gifts and her obedience to God’s call on her life. Her heart for God’s gospel is reflected in the mission of her ministry to this day: engaging people in a relationship with God through knowing His Word.

Kay Arthur was an American Christian author, Bible teacher, and co-founder of Precept Ministries International. She has published no fewer than ten bestselling Christian books, and one of her books, “A Marriage Without Regrets,” earned her the Gold Medallion Book Award.

Born on November 11, 1933, in Jackson, Michigan, Kay grew up in a Christian family. At 21 in 1955, after she graduated from nursing school, Kay got married to her first husband, Frank Thomas Goetz, Jr. The couple were divorced in 1961 and she moved out of the faith.

In 1963 returned to faith and became newly committed to Christianity.

She moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee, to attend Tennessee Temple University, where she met Jack Arthur, and something led to another; they both got married on December 16, 1965. There, Arthur began teaching teenagers about the Bible in the couple’s living room while Jack took over as manager of a local Christian radio station.
