The NorthStars, a few hours ago through their official Facebook announced the passing of their Assistant Coach Matt Eckert. According to the information posted online, Matthew Eckert sadly passed away today in a fatal accident.
The nature of the incident was not disclosed to the public in the statement released by the club.
According to information released by authorities, Matt and four teenage students lost their lives in the terrible. Reports say that the incident happened when they were coming home from a sports event near London.
The official statement released by the school management through email says all occupants of the vehicle in the crash died.
Two 17-year-old girls and a 16-year-old girl died at the scene. A 33-year-old man was taken to the hospital and later died, while a 16-year-old girl flown to the hospital by helicopter also died.
All of the deceased were occupants of the same SUV that first collided with a transport truck, causing it to crash into a second SUV at a rural intersection 20 kilometres northeast of London.

The Welland Jr B Raiders Lacrosse Club also reacted to Matt’s sad demise with a heartfelt tribute made on their official Facebook page.
