Charles Rogers has been identified as the 31-year-old runner who died during the Brooklyn Half Marathon on Saturday afternoon.
According to official Charles, who for the first time was participating in the race, he died of cardiac arrest.
Officials say Charles Rogers was in the race at 8:11 a.m. when he went into cardiac arrest and collapsed at Ocean Parkway and 18th Avenue, around mile 8 of the course.
The New York Road Runners confirmed the passing of Charles in an official statement released today through their CEO, Rob Simmelkjaer.
