Information that surfaced online a couple of hours ago ago has it that popular Mexican musician, Ernesto Barajas has sadly passed away. Reports says the singer and songwriter who is also the founder and vocalist of the group Enigma Norteño was shot and killed in Zapopan, Jalisco.
Reports says the gunmen on motorcycles arrived at a boarding house in the Mariano Otero neighborhood, on the border with Arenales Tapatíos in Zapopan, Jalisco, where the vocalist was with another man and a woman and opened fire on them, shooting at point-blank range killing Ernesto Barajas and other man, injuring the woman.
The incident happened at a boarding house located at the intersection of Francisco I. Madero and Arenales Street, where 911 reported the presence of two unconscious men and a woman injured by a firearm.
The Zapopan Police arrive at the scene of the shooting and found two men, aged between 20 and 25, dead with gunshot wounds to the skull. The woman, aged between 25 and 30, was found with a gunshot wound to the knee and taken to a first aid station in good condition.
Eye witnesses says two armed men entered on foot on Arenal Street, walked directly toward the victims, fired at point-blank range, and then fled in an unknown direction.
