The Fusion de Gatineau is mourning the death of one of their super-talented player who sadly passed away on June 2, 2025. The club took to their Facebook to announce the death of Julia, describing her as a high-level athlete who made a huge impact in the fusion team.
The statement from the club reads below:-
It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Julia Wilson, a player of Fusion de Gatineau.
Julia wasn’t just a high-level athlete — she was an integral part of the big Fusion family. Her infectious smile, her joy of life, and her intensity on the ice made her unique.
She always had a positive attitude and energy that inspired everyone around her.
Off the ice, Julia brought a precious lightness. She was sweet, funny, endearing & radiant. Anyone who knew Jules knew how much she loved life, her friends, her boyfriend and her family.
Today the Fusion loses much more than a player: we lose a friend, a sister.
The Ringnette Canada/Ringuette Canada, in an official statement released today, also reacted to the sudden demise of Julia.

With heavy hearts and the support of her family, we share the devastating news that our beloved Julia Wilson (Jules) has passed away.
She had a fulfilling and beautiful life, sharing love and kindness every day. Our precious memories with her will forever live on in our hearts.
Through incredible acts of love, Jules has given the precious gift of life to three people in need of critical organ transplants. Jules’ strength lives on. She is a true hero, and we are immensely proud of her.
