Authorities have identified the woman who was reportedly shot and killed by her boyfriend in Vermilion as Ashlee Summer McPeak.
According to a report by the Vermilion police, the incident happened over the weekend, precisely on Thursday morning. The motive of the shooting was not yet clarified at the time of filing this report, but it was stated that the incident happened during a domestic violence.
The shooting happened at 1:46 a.m. in the 500 block of Ferndale Ave. Police were called to the home for an armed man threatening the woman.
On arrival at the scene of the incident officer said Bryan Hall, 35, shot the woman twice and then put the weapon to his head, but pulled away at the last second.
